Robin Strachan
Director of Technology

Robin joined FT back in 1996 and worked closely with Dr Savvas Kapartis on the development of Acu-Res ®  Technology and FT’s very first wind sensor. Since then, he has worked as Chief Engineer and now, as Director of Technology, he oversees the company’s strategic product development. Liaising closely with customers to identify and resolve issues, he works to improve current products as well as developing new technologies. Currently, he is excited to be developing new products for the aviation market. Prior to FT, Robin worked at BAE on Harrier GR mk7 Cockpit Video Systems and Eurofighter Warnings Panel. Robin holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland.

Robin Strachan
Director of Technology

Louise Romano
Head of Human Resources

Louise is a Chartered member of the CIPD and holds a degree in HR and Masters’ degree in Management. Her experience involves all aspects of HR, specialising in talent management and change projects. Louise is passionate about learning & development, holding the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching & Mentoring, alongside MBTI, SDI & FIRO-B qualifications. She speaks Italian and French and enjoys using her languages at work thanks to the global and inclusive culture at FT.

Louise Romano
Head of Human Resources

Louise is a Chartered member of the CIPD and holds a degree in HR and Masters’ degree in Management. Her experience involves all aspects of HR, specialising in talent management and change projects. Louise is passionate about learning & development, holding the ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching & Mentoring, alongside MBTI, SDI & FIRO-B qualifications. She speaks Italian and French and enjoys using her languages at work thanks to the global and inclusive culture at FT.

Ian Loader
Head of Sales and Marketing

Ian joined FT in 2019 and leads Sales, Marketing and Applications Engineering. Motivated by sustaining long term customer relationships and delivery of strategy in technically complex OEM customer environments, he comes to FT with 20 years experience in the electronics components market having held commercial leadership roles for employers such as Sharp, TDK, BJB GmbH, and Oxley Developments. Ian has a BSc in Materials Science, an MSc Opto-electronic Materials from the University of Greenwich, and an MBA from the University of Surrey.

Ian joined FT in 2019 and leads Sales, Marketing and Applications Engineering. Duncan Green
IT Manager

Duncan joined FT in 2017 and is responsible for the implementation and delivery of all information technology, infrastructure planning and system architecture. After working for many years in international e-commerce, Duncan is now highly involved in the implementation of a new ERP system at FT, designed to streamline and improve processes across the entire company.  Duncan enjoys building up teams and working with smart people with positive, can do attitudes. A native of South Africa, he holds a National Diploma in Information technology from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

IT Manager

David Walch
Director of Operations

He now enjoys working closer to home but within an international environment full of highly talented engineers. The pace of change in this small business is very exciting. Previous employers include John Crane, Loma Systems, Dowty. David has Manufacturing degrees in Engineering from Brunel and a Masters in Leadership from Cambridge.

Automation Manager

Clive joined FT in 2006 and leads the Automation team which develops and supports flexible automated manufacturing to efficiently produce products with the highest quality and repeatability. Clive enjoys the demanding challenges involved in designing and building innovative automated machines, and embracing new technologies. Clive has a background in the automotive and nuclear industries with a wealth of experience in robotics and factory automation along with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Caroline Scott
Financial Controller

Caroline joined FT back in 2006 when there were only 20 employees. Responsible for all aspects of financial control, payroll, preparation of financial statements and management information, Caroline has played a pivotal role in the rapid expansion of the company since that time. Caroline is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA). She also holds a BA in Classics from the Open University, and an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.

Alex Wise
Strategy Manager

Alex joined FT in 2018 and is responsible for Strategic Planning and Management, with a focus on ensuring that the company continues to grow in a controlled and sustainable manner. Alex comes from the Oil and Gas sector, having spent 12 years working in the Asset Integrity Management market mostly in North America, before spending a year with social enterprises in Ghana. Alex has an Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Surrey and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.

Olivier Schlenkhoff-Hus
Engineering Programme Manager

Olivier joined FT in 2009 and has been instrumental in launching several new products, as well as steering the future product development roadmap.  Olivier is responsible for all engineering research, design and development with the electronic, software, mechanical, test, production equipment design and automation teams. Prior to joining FT, Olivier was a Senior Scientist at Philips Research where he specialised in clean tech innovation. Olivier holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Caen and an MSc in Communication Systems Engineering from the University of Kent.

Olivier holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Caen and an MSc in Communication Systems Engineering from the University of Kent.
