Powered by our own Acu-Res® Technology, FT wind sensors are unique in the market. Resonating an acoustic wave inside a narrow cavity allows us to design compact wind sensors with a signal-to-noise ratio more than 40dB stronger than other ultrasonic technologies. Extremely small, with no moving parts to degrade or damage, the sensors are rugged, maintenance-free and deliver over 99.9% data availability, for years on end, even in the harshest of environments.
FT7 Series
Heated Wind Sensors
Made from hard anodised aluminium, and subjected to over 30 environmental tests, the FT7 Series are the world’s toughest wind sensors. Their small size means that they use power efficiently and are therefore easy to heat. Fitted with a thermostatically-controlled heating system, they are ideal for extremely cold weather conditions, continuing to operate at -40°C and severe icing conditions. Highly resistant to corrosion, sand, hail, solar radiation, and bird attack, the sensors are sealed to IPX6K, IP66 and IP67 standard and are rated MIL-STD-810G.
FT205
Lightweight Wind Sensors
Made from a graphite and nylon composite, and weighing only 100g (3.5oz), our lightweight sensors have been specifically designed for use on drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Resistant to electrical interference, they are able to operate at altitudes up to 4000m and at temperatures between -20°C and +70°C. The FT205 model measures wind speed, direction, and temperature and features a built-in compass.
